No features, deposits or structures of archaeological significance were noted during the works. Probable natural, and possible disturbed natural, lay closer to the modern surface than noted in the recent excavations at 1 – 3 and 6 Driffield Terrace and it is likely that the original ground level along the line of the road has been reduced at some point in the past, possibly at the time of the formation of the present road.
