York Historic Environment Record

A watching brief was undertaken on 26/2/2016 in the yard to the rear of 18 Newton Terrace, York. The work was undertaken on behalf of John Butler. No artefacts were recovered from the watching brief. Where deposits could be dated they were clearly of modern date, the only exception being Context 107, which could be of any date from the Roman period onwards. There was no indication in either trench of any deposits of archaeological interest.
