Full Description

House. c1835-40. Brick, now sandblasted. Hipped slate roof. EXTERIOR: main block 2 storeys and 4 bays, with 3-storey one-bay block projecting at right (north-east). The main block has casement windows with margin panes. In the 3rd bay there is a single-storey canted bay window with a modillioned cornice. In the 2nd bay there is a doorway with an inner painted stone or stucco surround with pilaster reveals, a recessed doorway, and an outer timber pilaster doorcase with a modillioned cornice. One chimney visible behind ridge. The left-hand return wall, facing Holgate Road, is of one bay and has a sashed window with no glazing bars on the ground floor and a sashed window on the 1st floor. The 3-storey block has one bay facing St Paul's Square, with a blind window recess on the ground floor, and a left-hand return wall of one bay. INTERIOR: not inspected.
