Full Description
Two houses. Mid C19. Brick with painted stone dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. Each house 2 bays, with a sashed canted bay window on the ground floor with modillioned cornice. The 1st floor windows have a sill band. Those to No.28 are sashed and those to No.29 are glazing bar sashes. The 2nd floor windows are glazing bar sashes. The doorways have doorcases with pilasters which have sunken panels, modillioned cornices, and panelled reveals. The doors have 4 panels, and overlights. The overlight to No.29 is divided into 2 square panes. The timber gutter is carried on rectangular brackets. Chimneys in front of ridge at left and between houses. INTERIORS: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the garden front walls are of brick with stone copings, and the right-hand return wall to No.28 is similar. No.29 has an iron gate with cast-iron gate piers. The left-hand return wall of No.29, shared with No.30 (qv) carries iron railings with cast finials.
