Full Description

War memorial. c1920; altered after Second World War and restored late C20. Limestone ashlar. On the west side the Latin cross is carved with a wreath and dove in the centre of the cross head. The upper part of the octagonal base is decorated with symbolic carvings which include shields and military trophies. Below are carved tablets with the names of the dead from the First World War, restored in the late C20. Against the west side of the octagonal steps there is a carving of an open book, inscribed with the names of the dead from the 1939-1945 war.
