Full Description

House. c1840, altered early C20. Brick with slate roof.

EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and 2 bays. The windows to the upper storeys are sashed without glazing bars and have rubbed brick flat arches. The ground-floor window is a wide C20 casement which projects slightly as a bay window and has 3 lights with a transom. The doorway, at the left, has a panelled door, a plain rectangular overlight, and a pilaster doorcase with a hood on brackets. Chimney on right-hand gable in front of ridge.

INTERIOR: not inspected.

SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the front garden is enclosed by iron railings set on low brick walls with stone copings and is entered by an iron gate. (An Inventory of the Historical Monuments of the City of York: RCHME: South-west of the Ouse: HMSO: 1972-: 127).
