Summary
Fragment of broad, probably medieval, ridge and furrow surviving in good condition as well developed earthworks on the fringe of the Knavesmire common. Ridge and furrow seen as earthworks and cropmarks on 1936 air photographs.

Full Description
NMR information: (SE 597 493) Fragment of broad, probably medieval, ridge and furrow surviving in good condition as well developed earthworks on the fringe of the Knavesmire common. The west ends of the rigs, which are aligned roughly east - west, coincide with the edge of the low-lying ground, presumably because it was boggy, and there is no pronounced headland. The east ends are cut by a modern car-parking area and an allotment but probably once extended as far as Bishopthore Road. (1)
