Summary

Earthworks of a single searchlight show on vertical aerial photographs of 1941 . The site lies north of the village of Knapton, on the west side of North Field Lane. Oblique photographs taken under snowy conditions show the ditched earthworks of a World War II searchlight battery of three installations immediately to the west of Knapton village.

NMR contains two entries pertaining to this searchlight battery (UID 1199132 & UID 1199328)

UID 1199132: Earthworks of a single searchlight show on vertical aerial photographs of 1941 . The site lies north of the village of Knapton, on the west side of North Field Lane. (1)

UID 1199328: Oblique photographs taken under snowy conditions show the ditched earthworks of a World War II searchlight battery of three installations immediately to the west of Knapton village, at SE 559521. The features sit on top of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation. (1)
