Summary

A Medieval field system of ridge and furrow in the parish of Kexby is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on air photographs. Most of the ridge and furrow appears ploughed level, except for a few areas adjacent to the river Derwent, which remain extant.

Full Description

A Medieval field system of ridge and furrow in the parish of Kexby is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on air photographs. The system extends from SE 700 542 in the north of the parish to SE 703 491 in the south. Most of the ridge and furrow appears ploughed level, except for a few areas adjacent to the river Derwent, which remain extant.
