Monument record MYO2079 - Piker Thorne Lane

Summary

a narrow strip of land defined by a ditch on each side with a raised area (in places cambered). The north-western section runing from Bad Bargain Lane has been built up in recent times by addition of ballast material and a roughly tarmaced surface. The central section is fenced off and given over to pigs. The south-eastern section has good tree and shrub cover and indications of a possible badger set. The feature coincides with a parish boundary. Although this feature gives the appearance of a Roman road, it is unlikely to be one. All the roads and lanes in the surrounding area are similarly raised and profiled.
