NMR Information: Site code: WCY10. A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 1 hectare was undertaken off Wigginton Road, north of York, in order to fulfil an archaeological condition attached to a planning application for the construction of a methane production plant and access track. No anomalies of obvious archaeological potential have been identified despite known archaeological settlement activity within 350m of the site, both to the north-west and south-east. On the basis of the geophysical survey the archaeological potential of the site is considered to be low although the possibility of encountering archaeological remains cannot be completely dismissed.
