Description

A level 2 photographic survey was undertaken by On-Site Archaeology Ltd in advance of the proposed demolition of buildings within Castle Mills Car Park, Piccadilly, York. The survey covered the recording of two separate buildings. Based on historical mapping the earliest building is most likely a late Victorian or early Edwardian construction and had an industrial use. The front of this building appeared to have been rebuilt during the mid-20th century. The second building was an amalgamation of at least three buildings that appear to be of a mid-20th century date.
