Description

CONSTRUCTION WORK Excavation of air raid shelter in 1939 encountered a Roman stone building, probably a caldarium, part of a Roman baths. Height unrecorded. Unpublished except for a brief note and plan in Arch. J. CIII (1947) p76-7. Photographs with Yorkshire Museum. See RCHME Eboracum Vol 1.
