evaluation, trenches NMR: Two trench evaluation (trenches 7 and 9) involved the re-excavation of a trench previously opened by the York Archaeological Trust in 1998 (trench 7) and the opening of a new trench (trench 9). Trench 9 recorded only 19th century dumping and pits. Trench 7 located a series of riverine silt/flood deposits that had been truncated by a series of medieval pits.
