geophysical survey The results of the geophysical survey undertaken for the above report. The conclusions of this survey were that generally the area surveyed was magnetically quiet with few responses of definitive archaeological interest. In the north western area of the survey the responses appeared to be quite strong but were thought to relate to a series of natural features or as a result of small scale quarrying. However, because of the proximity to the known battle site of Stamford Bridge the archaeological potential cannot be ruled out. Other possible anamolies have been marked as tentative due to the barely discernable nature of the readings.
