Description

field walking and geophysics This was an evaluation done to assess the impact upon any possible archaeological deposits during the laying of a pipeline. The area of York affected by this was a section measuring 720 metres from south of the A166 to the River Derwent. In all a total of nine possible archaeological sites were uncovered all varying in age and size and were observed by a series of techniques ranging from aerial photographs to geophysical survey. Further evaluation work will be agreed between the contractor and the City Archaeologist at a later date information for which the writer has no information at the time of writing this summary.
