This evaluation consisted of two trenches each of which were 3 Metre squared and excavated to a depth of 1 metre below ground level. Trench 1 revealed very little archaeologically with only on feature being observed and was comprised of a square slab of stone with a circular socket cut into the upper surface which was placed upon a solid brick plinth a was thought to be Victorian in date. Below this all that was recovered was a layer of friable balck silty clay. Trench 2 revealed no recent structural features and below the modern concrete surface the same silty clay as in trench 1 was observed. The depth of the excavation was thought to have marked the top of possibly undisturbed medieval deposits.
