Description

YORK SE5951SW MOUNT TERRACE 1112-1/19/765 No.5 14/06/54 (Formerly Listed as: MOUNT TERRACE Nos.1, 2-5, AND 6 (Consecutive)) GV II House, now offices. 1827-8 with late C19 alterations. Mottled brick with red brick additions and some painted stone dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys above basement. 2 bays. At the right there is a late C19 canted bay window with a slate roof, painted stone lintels, and with sashes at ground-floor and basement level. The right-hand side opening at basement level is blind. The 1st floor windows are glazing bar sashes with a sill band. The doorway, at the left, is reached by a flight of external stone and concrete steps. The doorcase has engaged fluted columns, a frieze with triglyphs, and a mutuled cornice. The door has 6 raised and fielded panels and the semicircular overlight has 3 vertical divisions. Rectangular timber brackets support a plastic gutter. Axial chimney behind ridge.
