Description

YORK SE6051NW NEWGATE 1112-1/28/805 (North West side) No.11 GV II House, now shop. Early C19 with C20 alteration. Orange-grey brick in English garden-wall bond with timber shopfronts; pantile roof, hipped over corner, with brick stack. EXTERIOR: 3-storey, 2-window front. Shopfront extends round canted corner with glazed and panelled door on corner, between small-paned shop windows over panelled risers. First floor windows are 12-pane sashes with rendered brick sills and flat arches of brick; second floor windows 2x6-pane Yorkshire sashes beneath cambered arches. Right return: 3 storeys, 1 window. Windows repeat those on main front. INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value forming a significant group of buildings on Newgate and Patrick Pool.
