Pair of houses, now offices. c1845. By GT Andrews for the York           and North Midland Railway Company. Front of pink-cream mottled           brick in Flemish bond, with ashlar doorcases; side walls of           red-grey brick in English bond; timber eaves cornice. Single           brick stack in centre of slate roof.           EXTERIOR: basement and 3 storeys; 5-bay front. At each end of           front, doorcase of pilasters with moulded imposts and           entablature, and 4-panel door beneath divided overlight. All           windows are 12-pane sashes with slender glazing bars, windows           on second floor being squat: centre window on each floor is           blind. All windows have flat arches of rubbed brick, and all           except those on first floor have painted stone sills: raised           sill band to first floor windows. Bold eaves cornice is           carried on shaped brackets and returns across side walls           forming cornice to pedimented gable ends.           INTERIOR: not inspected.
