Shops and offices. Two separate builds of 1836-39, with C20           alterations and shopfronts. Orange grey mottled brick in           Flemish bond with moulded timber cornices; slate roofs, hipped           over corner bay, with brick stacks. Two fronts on corner site.           EXTERIOR: Church Street front: 3 storeys and mezzanine; 6           bays, one bay canted on corner. King's Square front: one bay           continues from Church Street to right of main front of 4           storeys, 4 bays. Church Street front: shopfront to No.12,           entered from King's Square, extends round corner, and           incorporates 6-panel upstairs door. Shopfront to No.12A has           part glazed door between plate glass windows over beaded panel           risers. Mezzanine floor has lunette window in moulded           semicircular arch over No.12A; other windows are squat 6-pane           fixed lights, some altered to 2- or 3-light small-pane           casements. First and second floors have 12-pane sash windows           with slender glazing bars, taller on first floor, with one           inserted first floor casement, and one blocked at left end of           second floor. All windows have narrow painted sills and flat           arches. Rebated corner bay has 2-light casement to mezzanine,           2x5-pane casement window in enlarged opening on first floor           and unaltered window on second floor. Windows in King's Square           bay are unaltered. Moulded raised band above mezzanine, and           moulded eaves cornice on shaped brackets. King's Square front           has 6-panel passage door at left end of shopfront. First floor           windows are tall 12-pane sashes with slender glazing bars,           over painted stone sill band. Second floor has two 16-pane           sash windows, the third two squat 8-pane sashes, with painted           stone sills. All windows have flat arches.
