YORK SE6052SW COFFEE YARD 1112-1/27/216 (South West side) 01/07/68 No.1 GV II Formerly known as: Premises on SW side occupied by Noyes and Dickinson COFFEE YARD. House, now shop and flat. Late C17 with later alterations, restored c1990. Red-brown brick in English garden-wall bond; pantile roof with tumbled brick gable ends, brick copings and brick kneelers. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 4-bay front. One glazed and panelled door at left end, one of 4 raised and fielded panels at right end: between, two 16-pane sash windows, one with inserted 2-pane opening light, both with concrete sills. First floor has 16-pane sash to left, tripartite window with three 8-pane sashes in centre, and squat 6-pane sash to right. Moulded brick cornice over ground floor, returned at each end, stepped up over 9-pane staircase window at left end. On first floor, Yorkshire Insurance firemark dated 1824 at left.
